PIT to PIT bursting is by far the most cost effective way of on line replacement for sewer, potable water and gas pipelines. The technique is an accelerated process therefore reducing project duration.
The existing pipeline can be replaced by pulling in one continuous "butt-welded" pipe, this can in most cases be achieved at a rate of 100mts in less than one hour.
It is normal practice to excavate launch and receive pits at the extremities of the pipeline to be replaced and pull through intermediate manholes in most cases. The manhole only requires minor modifications and rebenching. |
